New hair, say whaaat?

Seega eile, peale kogu keha KT uuringut vedasin end Sydney kesklinna ühte parimasse parukapoodi-salongi (poe nimi: Wig Affair).

Although I planned go to and shop for a wig last weekend, in reality we had such a busy weekend here (even went to IKEA – my favourite shop, haha!) and had no time for it. Thus, on Monday, after a whole body CT scan, I decided to go to one of the best wig stores in Sydney – Wig Affair  (located in the city center). I had mentally prepared myself for days for this experience. I honestly thought it will take hours to find a suitable wig and that the whole process will be so uncomfortable. But I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to the shop. I was immediately approached by a sales assistant who asked whether I need a wig for medical reasons. I, of course, said yes and then was taken to “hairdressers seat” with mirror and all the other fancy-pancy. I told the sales assistant that I would like a wig, which looks as similar to my current hairstyle and colour as possible. Two seconds later she brought a wig that was scarily similar to my own hair. Tried on couple of different colours to get a perfect match and that was it. Took only around 10-15 minutes all together. The wig I bought is made of synthetic material (for easier maintenance) and looks so real – it even has some tiny hair “growing” from the roots to make it more authentical. In addition to a wig, I bought a tiny beanie-kind of hat (can tie different colourful scarfs around it), which I can use during the days when I’m too lazy to deal with a wig.

I’ve attached two pictures to this post, one is “normal” me at the moment and the second is me with a wig. Although there is some difference in the colour and style, I don’t think the difference is so major. What do you think?

Apologies to friends, who advised me to go crazy at the wig salon – unfortunately this place was down to “business” and no time for a fun at all. I will try to go to a carnival shop at some point for a funny wig.

A bit news also – I met with my haematologist today who had received all the test results and confirmed that my lymphoma is Stage 1 (local, hasn’t spread anywhere outside thymus gland). This is good news! On Thursday I will have an information session about the chemotherapy I will get and they will provide me with a treatment plan. On Monday, 4 July 2016 at 8am, “the party will be over and bar closed” (like my good friend Sanne said) for this yuki-yuki in my body. I will write a bit about the chemotherapy I will get later this week when I know a bit more about it myself.

So time for pictures:

Which is which, haha!?
